About

The TRAnsition for VALUE initiative was designed to highlight both the clinical and economic advantages of transradial PCI through a multi-faceted approach of didactic modules, webinars, in-person seminars, education toolkits and in-lab training that are targeted to all cath lab key stakeholders to ensure the value of the transradial approach is fully realized across the care pathway.

The TRAnsition for VALUE education curriculum will be guided by the SCAI Quality Improvement Committee and supports SCAI’s consensus statement on transradial best practices.

Meet the Team

The TRAnsition for VALUE team of clinical professionals is committed to meeting the training and education needs of physicians, staff and administrators to build an efficient transradial practice and improve patient experiences.

Chairs

Schroff
Adhir Shroff, MD, FSCAI

Adhir Shroff, MD, FSCAI is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois – Chicago. He is Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program. He has been involved with transradial angiography and intervention for the past 8 years. His clinical and research interests involve PCI quality and health care economics. He has developed and conducted numerous CME-approved educational programs for physicians, cath lab staff and administrators on topics such as transradial cardiac catheterization, intermediate lesion assessment, hemodynamic support devices and coronary atherectomy. He is chair of SCAI’s Vascular Access Working Group that advocates for improved access techniques and outcomes.

Rao
Sunil V. Rao, MD, FSCAI

Sunil V. Rao, MD, FSCAI is a Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center and the Chief of Cardiology at The Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. His main research interests deal with phase 2 clinical trials exploring the pharmacological and interventional therapies for acute coronary syndromes, as well as bleeding and blood transfusion complications among patients with ischemic heart disease. He has led several clinical trials in the interventional cardiology space and his research has been published in leading medical journals including the American Heart Journal, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and JAMA.
